I cannot understand what people are thinking

So I finally got to watch the debate since stupid abc held it till the morning. and I get to the part about the candidates ideas for middle east policies and cannot believe what I am hearing Hilary saying. Basically, with regards to Iran, nuclear weapons, and Israel, her plan is to get all of our allies to threaten Iran and anybody in the area that if they attack Israel they will be attacked on with a massive force. She also said she would urge other nations not to aquire nuclear weapons to protect themselves from Iran unless they were willing to join our side by expanding our threat umbrella. So basically her plan is to let everyone who says they are on our side have horrible weapons or terrible destruction. What part of arming every country with these weapons is a good plan?
