What I don’t understand is how people can vote for Hilary or Obama based solely on the fact that they happen to be a black man and a woman. Maybe I’m old-fashioned but I have to think that a better way to decide who to vote for is to actually look at the policies that the candidates are trying to sell us and decide based on what you agree with. I can’t imagine there’s any sort of benefit to any equality movement if decisions are still being made based on race and gender. At the very least these people should be taking a test that will match them to the best candidate for them based on their opinions. But even then, it’s disappointing in the least to see that people can’t be bothered to actually participate in this democracy. You know, like actually research each of the candidates policies on their own. Or even see what kind of voting record these people have vs. what they are saying now. Like, oh, I don’t know, their votes concerning the Iraq war vs. what kind of policies they say they have about Iraq now. It’s all very interesting once you get into it. In fact, I’d highly recommend it.
